Robin Latkovich
" I just think the world is bigger, more complicated and scarier than us - and that's what I'm painting."

Amber McElreath Art was her way out, a way to make sense of her life within the world around her.

Battle of the Cleveland Revitalization Projects Look out! From East Side ghettos, to West Side slums - there's art everywhere! (Is this a good idea?) I don't know if "battle" is the correct word, but there's definitely a lack of cohesion going on in this ever shrinking city of ours. Most cities try to focus on a single neighborhood and revitalize it into a "burgeoning arts district"...but then again, almost every neighborhood in Cleveland is blighted and praying for the big government money to rain down and help them out of this beautiful mess we call CLEVELAND. Until everyone figures it out, guess I'll just be left zigzagging around town with a couple glasses of wine under my belt on a Friday, trying to hit more than one gallery on an opening night.
Great Curating! Michael Di Liberto and Sunia Boneham put on a couple incredible shows at Vision Gallery in Collinwood over the past few months. With artists like: Keith Marlowe, John G., Jake Kelly, Sean Burns, Scott Pickering and Stephe D.K. - it was a feast for my eyes. Hope they do more!
Pop Shopping in Lakewood The Pop Shop's not the most prestigious gallery in town, but they always have a large variety of up-and-coming local artists on display. I doubt we'll ever miss an opening there...every time we go, we find a new artist that we've never heard of with incredible work. They also do framing and have a huge collection of prints and other goodies offered at very reasonable prices...plus Rich Cihlar and Jeff Hulligan rule as artists and people!
